The first Accommodation Club Meeting was held at the Instituto Barraquer, Barcelona, Spain in 1991, the 2nd meeting at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in 1992, and the 3rd meeting again at the Instituto Barraquer in Barcelona June 6-7, 1997.

Past meetings have attracted a wide range of participants, which increased in numbers from 54 in 1991 to 75 in 1992. In 2010, 140 investigators including 22 students contributed to an information-packed day of 34 presentations and discussions.
