6th Meeting (2008)
The 6th meeting will be held at Retter Auditorium, at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute (BPEI) after the 2008 ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) meeting. The meeting will be hosted by BPEI Chairman Eduardo Alfonso, MD and presided by Sonia Yoo, MD.
The 5th Meeting was an exciting forum for discussion of research into the mechanisms of accommodation and presbyopia and developments in accommodating IOLs, lens refilling and a range of strategies aimed at restoring 'true' accommodation. Strategies for eliminating PCO were also discussed. We anticipate that the 6th Meeting will be equally (if not more!) exciting and informative.

Meeting Pre-Program
The 6th Accommodation Club meeting will field six sessions covering fundamental knowledge relating to the accommodation system, cause of presbyopia, methods and devices for restoring accommodation, and strategies for overcoming LEC proliferation.

Meeting Format:
All presentations are five minutes in duration MAXIMUM to permit time for extended detailed discussions. -

Attendence Fee:
An attendance fee of $70 is payable on the day. (Cash or cheque made payable to "University of Miami" accepted. Sorry, we cannot accept credit cards.) The Accommodation Club is a voluntary group. The attendee fee goes towards providing for operating costs for the meeting including refreshments and administrative expenses. As for previous meetings, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has generously provided the meeting venue and audio-visual support free of charge. In addition, the Vision Cooperative Research Centre and the Institute for Eye Research has generously contributed towards catering and administrative support.
Students who provide proof of current enrolment in a relevant field of study are exempt from payment.
A payment receipt for your institution or expense reimbursement purposes will be provided upon registration (please see staff at Retter Auditorium's registration desk on Saturday morning). -
